Cool pumpkins. Did he free-hand those or did he use a pre-fabricated design?

I have amazingly talented friends. It's a shame that we're only talents in oddities, but who knows, maybe one day pumpkin art will be all the rage.

Carved pumpkins are just an unappreciated form of print-style art. A design on a pumpkin can be just as complex as a woodcut etc. The artist also has to deal with structural issue on top of design. The resulting art form is a "light" print where even the effects of the candle light can be utilized in the art. It's fleeting life-span also has many post-modern associations that could be further discussed.

Alas, due to it's connection with Halloween, even the most complex and beautiful pumpkins will never be considered "high-art", and the talent will be relegated to an oddity.
